Meet Your Real Good Fish Family

Real Good Fish was founded by Alan Lovewell and his wife Jenn joined the family business full time after having their first son. From boat to plate we have a team of passionate individuals working tirelessly together to bring you Real Good Fish.

We love Sardines fresh from the water, Oysters that taste like Tomales Bay, buttery Spot Prawns, rich Black Cod, sweet & messy Dungeness Crab, and King Salmon straight from the boat, to name just a few. We believe all meals should be fresh, delicious, varied and a celebration of the seasons and local bounty, something worth praising with every meal and every bite.

What kind of fish do you deliver?


We love this question! We deliver over 65 types of seafood, everything from King Salmon and Halibut to Squid, Anchovies, and Mackerel. Diversity is what sets us apart and is a cornerstone to true sustainability. Eating a wide variety of seafood keeps things exciting in your kitchen, exposes you to new species you may not find elsewhere and keeps us from impacting or over-loving any one species too much. Seafood is seasonal and we source what is in season and is coming across the docks.


What do you consider “local”?

This is a tough and important question that is at the heart of Real Good Fish. To start, 60-80% of seafood consumed in the US is imported and on average travels 5000 miles between the ocean and consumers' plates. It's a big deal to just eat American seafood. We go further by regionalizing our seafood and delivering seafood unique to your region. We do some regional cross overs, to keep things exciting and delicious in your kitchens, and celebrate abundance and hard working fishermen across our country. Most importantly, we always tell you where your seafood is coming from, including the fisherman that caught it and where it was caught. We source directly from the fishermen and pass that transparency and trust onto you.

 
What is the cost of shipping?

If you have a subscription, shipping is always free! When ordering a la carte shipping is waived after spending $100.


How flexible are deliveries?

We know how busy life can get and are here to support that. From your account, you can change the date your next order will be delivered. You can also update your delivery frequency anytime (every week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, etc.) to match your schedule.


Can I add extra items to my box?

You bet! You can add onto your order and have it come with your next delivery or as a special one off shipment. We offer all kinds of fresh and frozen seafood, meat from sustainable farmers and ranchers, housemade raviolis, pastas, burgers, and pre-marinated items to round out your weekly meal planning.
